Hey everyone!

I wanted to start this blog by saying thank you to each and every one of you. I am so thankful—more than you know—for all of your prayers. They were seen and felt so deeply this past week during domestic missions. It’s such an encouragement to know that at any point in my day I can reach out with a need, and without a doubt, every one of you will be praying for me.

As I mentioned, this past week my squad finished training in Georgia and headed to North Carolina to do some domestic missions work. We partnered with an organization called Adventures Relief. They are incredible, and God has been working in big ways through them! Their mission is to provide free rebuilding and relief to homes severely damaged by Hurricane Helene last year. So many families are still living with the destruction, without the resources or funds to rebuild. That’s where Adventures Relief steps in—providing both the materials and the people to restore homes, at no cost.

All of this is possible only because of God’s goodness and provision, His community that provides resources, and His people He has called from all over to serve. Because of God. Right now, Adventures Relief has 411 houses lined up to rebuild—411 families who will also hear the gospel. Praise God!

My team and another team of girls (12 of us total) were assigned to the home of Mr. Jonathan Cox, his wife, and their two little kids. When the hurricane hit, one of the kids was just a baby. Water poured in from all sides until their home was completely submerged. By the end of the storm, everything they had was gone.

I still remember the first day I stepped into their house. Walking from room to room, I took in the damage and tried to imagine what it once was—their kitchen, their living room, their newly finished nursery. It was heartbreaking. I realized then that we weren’t just building a house; we were rebuilding someone’s home—the place where memories and milestones had happened. That perspective changed everything about the work we did.

Toward the end of the week, all the homeowners were invited to dinner at our base, and Jonathan came! We got to hear story after story of the night the hurricane hit, as well as testimonies of how God moved during and after the storm. Jonathan shared something so impactful: his story of hope.

After the hurricane, his house ended up on the cover of newspapers, which caught the attention of many rebuilding companies. At first, he received offers of help from more groups than he could count—but one by one, they ghosted him. He went from company to company, desperately trying to find help while his family lived with others. He grew hopeless. Then one day, while grocery shopping, he happened to meet someone from Adventures Relief. He shared his story, and within a week, the organization was working on his home.

Jonathan told us the relief that brought, but also the hope—hope in his home being restored and hope in God. God is so good. Hearing his testimony, along with so many others, was beautiful and encouraging.

At his house, our team had a lot of work to do. We removed drywall, cut and installed new drywall, and mudded nearly every wall in the house. My main job was cutting drywall in straight lines with a hand saw—something I’d never done before (haha). It stretched me in a lot of ways, but it was so rewarding. God used even those simple tasks to remind me to look for Him in everything I do. Whether I was praying over the house as I worked, writing Scripture on the walls, or letting someone pour into me as we labored side by side—it isn’t about the work of the hands, but the posture of the heart.

Two staff members from Adventures Relief joined us every day. They didn’t just teach us construction skills—they poured into us spiritually, too. They were intentional, encouraging, and left an impact on me I’ll never forget. I’m so thankful for the week I got to spend with them.

To sum it all up, here’s what has been resting most on my heart: look for God in every moment of the day. Seek Him in the quiet, talk about Him with others, and let Him use your hands and your work to reflect who He is. This past week was such a gift, and I can’t wait for the months ahead—and even when I’m home—to keep living this out.

So my encouragement to you is this: spend every waking moment of your day with Him and for Him. Let all that you do be for His name’s sake and His glory. Follow Him all the days of your life.

Also if you feel led, reach out to Adventures Relief, God is growing their organization and they could use more help!!
