Happy Week 2 of Training Camp!

This week has been full—in every way. From powerful lessons and teachings, to sending off the 11-month team, to evangelizing, and even going out on the town for some fun. All that to say: God is so good. He’s been teaching me so much, and it’s amazing what happens when you let Him pull you out of your comfort zone.

One of my biggest worries in leaving home was leaving behind my community—my family and the friends who have become family to me. I worried I’d lose that closeness with the people back home, and that I wouldn’t find a community here that could ever compare. But God hears every single one of our worries, and He takes care of us in every detail. He’s given me a fresh perspective on community that I never would’ve experienced if I’d stayed home. And here, He has blessed me with the sweetest, coolest people. It blows my mind how close you can feel to people you’ve only known for two weeks. I’ve never experienced anything like it. God is so good.

This week, He’s really put two things on my heart:

First, Psalm 23:3 — “He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.”

The Hebrew word for “restore” is yeshovev, which carries the deeper meaning of a living restoration—bringing back to life and keeping alive. Isn’t that so beautiful. That’s exactly what God does with our souls. He is constantly, actively filling us. And it’s so personal: He restores MY soul. He leads ME. The Lord is MY Shepherd. We serve such a personal, intentional God—always caring for us, walking with us, and holding us up.

Second, a sweet friend reminded me this week: “It’s not about the work of the hands, but the posture of the heart.” While evangelizing, I started to feel like what I was doing wasn’t good enough. But that’s never true if our heart posture is right—if we carry humility and love, if we’re meek, lowly, servant-hearted, and willing to let God lead us down the path for His name’s sake, not our own. That truth is such a comforting reminder.

This week has been so sweet—just loving the Lord and loving others. I’m so excited for the weeks to come, especially since next week we’ll finally leave training camp and head to North Carolina for mission work!

Love you all!
